| Recently, I took my first trip to Lantau Island, situated to the southeast of Hong Kong Island. It is twice as big as Hong Kong Island, but only has about 20,000 residents. On the ferry over to Lantau, I noticed the oranges and joss sticks at the bow of the boat, I assume to ensure a safe journey. Peng Chau (below) can be seen from the ferry on the way to Lantau and is one of the many small, rural islands that are part of the Hong Kong territory. | |
