Controls

The development of control systems are essential for mission capable MAVs. We are currently focusing on methods of tracking heading, roll angle, and altitude to develop an autopilot with waypoint navigation capabilities. We are also investigating flight characteristics of the MAVs through flight testing and wind tunnel testing. Here are some research areas that we are working on.

Research Areas

-Flight Controls
Control system design for longitudinal and lateral-directional flight dynamics.

-Modeling
Developing mathematical models of the MAVs for use in simulations and control system architecture.

-Waypoint Navigation
Navigating the MAVs autonomously to exact GPS positions and altitudes.
